Well done to the Boy's 16's team of Louis Grieves (pictured below) and Luke Godwin who beat David Lloyd Dartford yesterday by 2 rubbers to one. Louis won his singles and the boys paired up to win the deciding doubles 6-2 6-3
Animals & Cowboys and Indians!
We had great fun at the Easter Camps with our 4-7 year olds. Particularly the animal noises during a game of Cowboys & Indians!
Thank you all for coming in, you all improved so much and I look forward to seeing you all again! Richard, Emily and Georgia!
Big Welcome to Anna
We are delighted to announce that WAM Tennis has a new coach - Anna Chwiejczak!
Anna will be joining us, as of the 21st April, and comes to us from Bromley Lawn Tennis Club. Anna was a nationally ranked player in her native Poland and is a Level 3 coach, working towards Level 4. Anna will be Head of Performance Coaching and we are so excited to have her join us.
Anna will be available for private coaching as well as leading many established junior and adults sessions. She will also be leading our popular Friday Family Night sessions which will recommence on Friday 28th April!
I'm sure you will join with us in giving Anna a very warm welcome!
Goodbye to Lilian! Everyone at Sundridge Park wishes you all the best!!
Lilian had only been coming in to Sundridge Park for a short time, but has had to move to Epsom. We will all miss you! Good luck with your tennis - you can be a great player, as long as you keep working ultra hard! :-)
Easter Camps Buzzing at Sundridge Park!

Red Nose Juniors v Adults Davis Cup Challenge at Sundridge Park!
We had an exceptional turnout for the juniors v adults Red Nose Davis Cup challenge, with the juniors taking victory, despite the adults winning the last relay event (with some clever manipulation of the rules!)
Special thanks to all that made cakes, Carolyn Everitt, Anna Wilson and everyone else that helped out. A huge thank you to Louise Anand (Loonar Designs) for doing the face painting (which was incredible!) at no charge to the Club.
The Club raised £400 for Red Nose and took £800 behind the bar. The clubhouse was rocking all evening and a fantastic time was had by all!
Matilda and Tala ready for action on Red Nose Day at Sundridge Park!
Well done to all you Mini Green Matchplayers!!
We ran our first Mini Green Matchplay event yesterday afternoon at the Club. For some of them it was their first experience of playing matches. Everyone did really well and the matches were played in great spirits. A special mention to Isaac Holdaway who remained unbeaten all afternoon...well done!! We will be running more of these events after Easter, so watch this space!
Lots of fun had at Sundridge Park midweek tournament!
We had 20 participants for the midweek tournament last Thursday. David Mccart and Sam McCarthy were the winners, with Becky MacCallum & Hannah Maynard finishing a close 2nd. There was some great tennis played throughout the morning and a lovely lunch followed. Many thanks to Sandra Whichello for running the tournament. The club made a profit of £123, so a big win win!!
Practise Makes Perfect
How to perfect those forehand volleys......a hundred times.....
Serena beats her previous best rally of 15 with 53 today at Sundridge Park!!
Serena had the most fantastic lesson today. We are seen here celebrating her new personal best rally of 53 hitting all forehands and a rally of 35 alternating forehands and backhands! We are also celebrating that she has now moved up to the next level Mini Red class on Mondays. Well done Serena - and with a name like hers, she just has to be a tennis star!!
Brighter Ideas Charity Event At The National Tennis Centre With Marcus Willis!
The weekend before last I took part in a 24 hour charity event at the National Tennis Centre. Brighter Ideas (led by Danny Sapsford, ex Davis Cup player) raised £34,000 towards helping tennis Clubs facilities around the country. There were a host of ex and current Davis Cup players taking part, including Marcus Willis (seen on adjacent court of photo). I finished at gone midnight and was back on court teaching at 9am! A whole lot of fun, apart from my knees and back the next day!
Danny Sapsford will be bringing his Brighter ideas (and some David Cup players) to Sundridge Park on Sunday 4th June for 3 hours of coaching and an exhibition match - one for your diaries!!
Olivia Hobbs fantastic trick shot at Sundridge Park today!
Wow! Bet we couldn't do this again if we tried!
World Book Day comes to Sundridge Park with Abigail the Giraffe!
These aren't the clay courts of Sundridge Park but the dusty plains in Africa!
Elizabeth mastering her forehand volley!
Chopper grip, good use of non playing hand, great racket face angle and perfect contact point! Awesome!
Fantastic session tonight - well done everyone!
Despite the drizzling rain and freezing temperatures nothing could distract the concentration and focus of the Tuesday night development group. You rock!!!
New Junior Member Fee Structure & Benefits at Sundridge Park
Calling all members and non-members of the Junior Programme!
As from April 1st 2017, every participant in junior coaching must become a member of Sundridge Park. The Club have put together an attractive and competitive fee structure, which takes into account the age of your child, plus an extensive list of benefits, including the opportunity to play Tennis, Squash and Racquetball.
Do take the time to have a closer look. We are working hard to extend the programme we offer and are always looking for feedback and ideas. We have a new junior rep Carolyn Everitt (carolyneveritt@hotmail.co.uk) at Sundridge - so if there are any events or activities that you think our junior members would enjoy do please contact us.
